Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Jager has had a strong start to his second season on the Steinbach Regional Sabres Hockey team, making vital contributions to 5-on-5 play, the powerplay and the penalty kill.  Jager was named an assistant captain on the team this season as a result of his leadership skills on and off the ice as well as his ability to play the game the right way.  Often the first Steinbach forward to get in on the forecheck or win a puck battle in the corner, Jager plays with tenacity and stays out of the penalty box.  Jager has seven goals in the first twelve games of his breakout WHSHL season.

Jager has demonstrated what it takes to succeed as a student-athlete by maintaining a 90.5% average in the first semester while balancing his commitments with the Sabres Hockey and Golf teams.
