Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Istvan Reid has had a hot start to the basketball season through the Pirates’ first two tournaments. In their home tournament, the Pirate Invitational Tournament, Istvan averaged 30 points, 19 rebounds, and 7 blocks per game. Istvan led the team both offensively and defensively throughout the entire tournament, leading to a second-place finish. In the semi-final game, Istvan had 32 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 blocks, finishing with his first triple-double of the season. Istvan consistently brings a positive attitude to practices and games and is a leader by example for the entire team. As a grade 11 student-athlete, Istvan has a bright future ahead of him in the sport of basketball.

Istvan currently maintains over a 70% average in his grade 11 classes.
