Payworks Coach of the Month

Ashley Van Aggelen has made outstanding contributions to the St. James Collegiate Varsity Girls Basketball Program. Ashley exemplifies leadership, dedication, and passion, making a lasting impact on both her players and the Jimmies community.

For 16 years, Ashley has been a driving force in developing athletes both on and off the court. Her ability to inspire, mentor, and instill discipline in her players is truly remarkable. Ashley has led her current varsity girls basketball team to a 5-0 record in the WWAC Tier 2 league.

Beyond the scoreboard, Ashley prioritizes character development, sportsmanship, and teamwork. She fosters an environment of inclusivity, resilience, and growth, ensuring that each player reaches their full potential. Many of her former players have gone on to CMU and Providence to further their basketball career.

Ashley also extends her leadership and coaching to soccer, track and field, hockey, and x-country. Her impact is felt by every student at St. James Collegiate, and their families. In every sense of the word, Ashley is more than just a coach. She is a mentor, a role model, and a true ambassador for the game of basketball. Her commitment to excellence, both in competition and in shaping the lives of young athletes, makes her highly deserving of this award.
