Matthew Brown exemplifies excellence as a student-athlete, earning widespread admiration for his exceptional volleyball skills, leadership, and integrity. As captain of the River East Collegiate volleyball team, Matthew has set an extraordinary standard both on and off the court. His talent, commitment, and strong character distinguish him as a role model to teammates, peers, and the broader school community.

Matthew's athletic achievements are impressive. A 6’4" left-handed setter, he led his high school team to win the 2024 AAAA Provincial Volleyball Championship where he was named MVP. Representing Manitoba in 2023 and 2024, he captained his provincial team to notable finishes, earning additional All-Star recognition.

As a leader, Matthew embodies the Kodiak traits: kindness, optimism, determination, integrity, ambition, and knowledge. Off the court, Matthew’s academic achievements and involvement in the school community reflect his discipline and principles. Balancing rigorous athletic commitments with strong academic performance, he is a role model for his peers. His humility and genuine desire to uplift others further underscore his exceptional character.

Matthew plans to continue his volleyball career at the University of Calgary. Beyond his playing career, he aspires to coach and mentor younger athletes, giving back to the sport that has shaped him.
