Dairy Farmers of Manitoba Athlete of the Week

Owen Maynard is the captain of the Morris Mavericks Hockey Team. With his leadership, the Mavericks won the AA Provincial Championships against the host in Carmen, MB. During the season Owen had 14 goals and 6 assists in 24 games. Owen has excellent communication skills, maintains his composure in high-pressure situations, and leads by example. He puts the team first and consistently demonstrates the values and behaviors that have contributed to the Maverick's success.

Owen has maintained an 82% average during his Gr. 12 year all while being involved in his school community and other sports. Through hockey, Owen has learned how to be a leader on and off the ice helping lead school events in different capacities.
