Payworks Coach of the Month

John Marshall has been a driving force in the sport of basketball for well over 30 years in the community of Dauphin. His leadership, dedication and commitment to the sport is unprecedented. He’s coached both JV and Varsity at the school, been part of the middle school programs and continues his love of the sport with club basketball in our community. He was also the lead chair for the Manitoba Summer Games which Dauphin hosted this past summer. He coached while his children were in school and even after they have graduated and he's retired from the teaching profession, he continues to pour his love of the sport back into our school.

John’s commitment to the sport is evident in the success he brings to his programs, with this year’s JV Girls team competing very strongly and narrowly losing out to a solid Linden Christian Wings team in the Provincial Championship Final. His girls team had a very successful season and the growth that his players have shown is a reflection of his hard work as a coach.

Not only is John the head coach of our JV Girls team, he was one of the Co-Convenors that organized the recent AAA JV Girls Provincial Basketball Championships at the DRCSS. He ensured that our event was a positive, exciting and well-organized event that guests would remember for years to come. He’s countless hours of volunteerism within our community and especially our school has kept the sport of basketball alive and well.
