Athlete of the Year

AAA Boys:

Junior Martine of École Secondaire Neelin High School – A dynamic multi-sport athlete and respected leader, Junior has left a legacy at Neelin through his dedication, athletic excellence, and commitment to giving back. In his senior year, Junior competed at the highest level in varsity boys volleyball, basketball, and baseball, demonstrating elite performance across all three sports.

Junior played a pivotal role in leading Neelin to the Varsity Boys Volleyball Provincial Championship title, earning Most Valuable Player of the tournament honours. He was also selected to Volleyball Manitoba’s Graduating All-Star Team and named to their All-Manitoba Team.

On the basketball court, Junior once again stood out, earning selections to both the Basketball Manitoba Graduating All-Star Team and the All-Manitoba Team. As captain and team MVP, he led his squad with poise and skill throughout the season. In baseball, Junior helped guide Neelin to a Zone 15 Championship to round out a remarkable year of school sport.

Beyond school athletics, his leadership extended into the community where he volunteered extensively — coaching Grade 9 volleyball, managing sites for multiple tournaments including Spartan DIG, BSSI, NIT Basketball, and JV boys basketball qualifiers.

A model student-athlete, Junior was honoured as Neelin High School’s Senior Male Athlete of the Year — a testament to his hard work, leadership, and impact both on and off the court.
